Product Description

Our new plain toed derby boot, a versatile and casual choice handmade on the all new HOK last, this boot will be for sure your best partner to achieve a casual style.

The HOK is a voluminous last, featuring a wide ball tread, providing superior comfort to the wearer. It is our most forgiving & comfortable boot last so far, without losing a bit of style. Providing excellent support while retaining a snug heel control so that the foot remains in place avoiding any slippage or sliding-forward to within the boot. That is due to the newly redesigned & enhanced back part. We do recommend to wear the same size as the HIRO or RUI lasts, for a more relaxed fit, or going down half a size for a more close cut fit. Also suitable for customers in need of a wide fit.

This very limited Meermin Shell Cordovan boots are made, using the Shell Cordovan handmade by Shinki Tannery, a family owned tannery in the heart of Japan, following ancient methods.
Full vegetable tanned made following a 10 month process where every shell is pit tanned, naturally air dried & glazed by hand in order to achieve its very transparent & characteristic finish. That is a quite long process, but the result its totally worth it.

Shoes made with this beautiful leather are made to last & get more confortable over the time. Shoes with this precious leather will develop a deep patina over the time, that will add its very own special character. Unfortunately nowadays, Shell Cordovan quantities are very restricted and because of that, these runs are extremely limited.

    Shinki Shell Cordovan

This boot is made using the exclusive Shell Cordovan from the Shinki Hikaku Tannery.

Shinki Hikaku Tannery is a family owned tannery, located in the heart of Japan in the village of Himeji (Hyogo Prefecture). This leather is made following ancient methods, full vegetable tanned made following a 10 month process where every shell is pit tanned, naturally air dried, hand-skived & glazed by hand in order to achieve its recognized-fiber tightness & a stunning transparent & characteristic finish as well. That is a quite long process, but the result its totally worth it.

Boots made using this precious leather will develop a deep patina over the time, that will add its very own special character depening on the wearer’s care, & way of living it.

For sure one of the most incredible & unique leathers we’ve came accross during the years we’ve been in the business.

As all our leathers it benefits from regular cleaning and conditioning, but in this case you just need a Shell conditioner that helps recover its natural oils and a lot of brushing. We recommend you using Shell Cordovan Pommade & a nice horsehair brush.

Because of the oils used in the tanning process, light scuffs and marks might happen adding its own character and making every pair unique, however those can easily be removed just rubbing the leather surface nice & vigorous brushing.
